What better way to celebrate Father's Day than to give voice to men who are advocating for vulnerable children in our community. It is a wonderful opportunity to hear from them and gain insight into their understanding and compassion for the fatherless and the hurting.
Children who are in foster care spend many hours each week visiting with their biological families, as they work to become reunified as a family. Oftentimes, these visits take place at the local DFCS office where they have special visitation rooms set up! These rooms get lots of use, as there are nearly 15,000 children in foster care in the state of Georgia. Many of the toys and resources available for kids to play with in these rooms become broken or mismatched overtime.
Chosen for Life Ministries, along with other community organizations, came together to give the Clarke County DFCS Visitation Room a makeover! The hope was to fill this room with new things that encourage and support the time parents are spending with their children.
On Saturday, April 28th we held our 6th Annual Both Hands Project. For 6 years, we have gathered volunteers to spend a day serving local women who have lost their husbands. These projects often entail general yard cleanup and landscaping, but we also have local businesses who want to give back in incredible ways! We are so excited to share 2 of our 5 worksite projects with you, so that you can see how these ladies are tangibly served through our Both Hands Project.

It is with both sadness and gratitude that the Board of Directors of Chosen for Life Ministries (CFLM) announces the resignation of Mary Lee Herron as our Executive Director, effective April 30, 2018. Since the spring of 2012, Mary Lee has acted as a board member of CFLM until March of 2016, when she became our first Executive Director during a crucial season of growth for this organization. Since then, we have benefited from her notable abilities to lead, encourage, and equip our board, staff, and volunteers to follow the Lord in pursuit of our mission. While we are sad to see her leave, we are excited for her family as they enter a phase of life where she has chosen to stay home with their first child, expected in May...
