November Learning to Care Success!

At our November Learning to Care workshop, we enjoyed delicious treats gifted by a generous small group from Athens Church! These goodies, a perfect venue at Faith Presbyterian Church, volunteers from Faith Presbyterian, Athens Church, and Grace Athens, and fantastic teaching from Whitney White of Lifeline Children's Services made for an incredible night of education. We couldn't be more grateful for the many hands that make it possible for Chosen for Life to offer quality education and childcare at no cost to fostering and adoptive families in our community!

At this particular workshop, parents were able to learn from Whitney about the development of their adoptive and foster children versus ideal development. She taught on the attachment cycle and the results of the non-ideal world many of these children have experienced. Parents learned how God's design of relationships allows for them to form safe, trusting environments that will lead to change and healing for their children.

Many parents who attended this workshop provided feedback about Whitney's passion and knowledge on the subject and about how this resource is "worthwhile even without the need for CE credits"!

If you are an adoptive parent, a foster parent, or considering either, we encourage you to attend our next workshop and our Annual Choosing to Care Conference!
