FINAL LEARNING TO CARE OF 2020

To wrap up our educational opportunities for 2020, we’re offering a workshop on Adult Attachment Styles. As infants and toddlers, our primary caregivers imprinted a style of relating on us that carries into adulthood, affecting how we interact with our intimate partners, friends, and children. At this workshop, you will gain greater insight into your own attachment style, identify your style's strengths and weaknesses (and how to grow from those weaknesses!), and learn strategies to positively impact your child's primary attachment style for years to come.

Adult Attachment Styles: November 2, 7:00-9:00 p.m., Thorn Winkler, MA, APC, AMFT

“Adult Attachment Styles” will take place Monday, November 2. This workshop will be led by Thorn Winkler, MA, APC, AMFT. Thorn is a counselor at Stonegate Counseling Associates in Watkinsville, GA. He specializes in helping men, women, couples, and teenage boys experiencing family conflict, unwanted sexual behavior, depression, and anxiety. Before working in private practice, Thorn worked with teenage boys experiencing family transition and behavior issues at Eagle Ranch in Flowery Branch, GA.

PROVIDING HELP + HOPE TO ADOPTING FAMILIES

We concluded our Help + Hope fundraiser in September, and now the numbers are in! Thanks to our volunteers, donors, and business sponsors, our first ever Help + Hope event raised $38,723!

Millions of children are in need of a family. We rejoice with the families that choose to bring one of these children into their homes. It is our honor and privilege to support them with financial grants. Average adoption expenses exceed $40,000. Cost is the number one reason people list for not adopting.  We want to help remove the financial barriers that prevent families from adopting.

So far in 2020, we have awarded grants to TWELVE families! With the funds raised through Help + Hope, we will be able to continue awarding Georgia families with adoption assistance, allowing more children to find a place to call home.

While Help + Hope is over, the opportunity to give to support adopting families is always available. 100% of your donation is given to adopting families through our Adoption Assistance Grant.

While Covid-19 has required a change of plans and some creative thinking, we are excited to continue offering a fun-filled event for children in care.

We need your help!
Can you help us spread Christmas cheer and the love of Jesus to our friends? We have created an Amazon wishlist to make it easy. Simply browse our list and purchase the item(s) you would like to donate. The items will be mailed directly to our office!
