CFLM's 2018 Both Hands Project, Part 2

On Saturday, April 28th we held our 6th Annual Both Hands Project. For 6 years, we have gathered volunteers to spend a day serving local women who have lost their husbands. These projects often entail general yard cleanup and landscaping, but we also have local businesses who want to give back in incredible ways! Widows receive this help free of charge, and 100% of funds raised through this project help welcome orphans home!

One of our favorite aspects of the Both Hands Project is that, similar to a 5K race or walk, participants in the event raise money in support of their workday. The big difference between our Both Hands Project and these types of events is that our work day is spent tangibly serving widows in the community. Chosen for Life's Adoption Assistance Grants are fully funded through our Both Hands Project each year. Volunteers reach out to their friends and family, asking for support of their work as they spend a Saturday serving a local widow. This project gives volunteers a way to live in obedience to God's command to care for widows and orphans in there distress (James 1:27). While our workday has been completed, the fundraising portion of our event is still ongoing!

You have the opportunity to play a role in each of our Adoption Grant Recipients’ stories! By choosing to give a gift in support of our Both Hands Project, each person enters into the story of families and orphans – providing the means to equip them financially to answer God’s call to care for orphans. We'd love for you to consider supporting this project financially by donating at bothhands.org/chosenforlife2018!

We are so excited to share the final 2 of our 5 worksite projects with you, so that you can see how these ladies are tangibly served through our Both Hands Project.

Project Number 4 - Volunteer teams from Redeemer Presbyterian Church and Watkinsville First Baptist Church!

At this worksite, we had volunteers completing some big projects to tangibly serve the lady who lives here! She is retired from the Oconee County Schools, and her husband passed away a few month ago very suddenly. Volunteers were able to serve her by prepping the exterior of her home to be painted, by working on landscaping around her home, and repairing an old deck! The team spent their Saturday removing bushes, installing new plants, removing the surface and rails of her deck for a new one to be installed, and well as general clean up and repair around her home. Take a look at the pictures below to see the amazing work that this team accomplished!

Project Number 5 - Volunteer team from Akins Ford!

At this worksite, we had volunteers completing some great projects to tangibly serve the lady who lives here! The project was a combination of landscaping and yard clean up as well as indoor clean up. Volunteers helped to beautify the yard and help to clean the house, including washing all of the windows! See below for pictures from this worksite!
