Chosen for Life Ministries Office Update

On August 18, Chosen for Life celebrated the grand opening of our new office building. We were so encouraged by each of you who attended, who congratulated us, and who wished us well from afar! The Lord continues to provide for us in so many ways. We are so grateful for the office space and for the friendship and support we have received from so many in the community.

Racing for a Place to Call Home

Doug and Samantha McFarland started the Run Home 5K - Racing for a Place to Call Home in 2014 to raise support for the costs of adopting their son, Ben. They saw the Lord's abundant provision of over 200 runners from 9 different states and 2 foreign countries, which blessed them with the resources to travel to China to adopt Ben!

On October 22, 2016 you have the opportunity to join in the race for caring for orphans!!

Is My Family Different?

Monday, September 19th was a wonderful night of fellowship and learning as many foster and adoptive families joined us at our Learning to Care Workshop (our educational workshops provided every other month)! Our very own Board Member, Danny Stevens, taught on "Is My Family Different? A Look at the Dynamics of Adoptive and Foster Families." He shared incredible stories and examples from his professional experiences that demonstrate how difficult it can be for adoptive and foster children to understand their role within a family. Additionally, he provided encouraging examples of how parents can understand and better care for the children in their homes.

Chosen for Life's Clothes Closet

Chosen for Life Ministries has seen the Lord’s provision continue to abound in so many ways! We are constantly reminded of his love and generosity towards us, therefore, we strive to also be generous with the resources we have been graciously given.

As our Foster Care Initiative continues to grow, we are finding more ways to equip churches and communities to walk alongside us in generosity to provide for the many needs of foster families in our area. One way we wish to support foster families is by providing them with children’s clothing and other necessary items for free! We are so excited to announce our new Chosen for Life Ministries Clothes Closet - a resource for foster families to come and receive children’s clothing and other items that have been donated by community members and churches.

Thank you, Kelly!

We are so thankful for all of the many volunteers and staff who work hard to meet the mission of Chosen for Life Ministries every day! Through everything that we do, we strive to care well for the children who need a safe and loving home to rest in, as well as care well for the families who are offering their homes and love to these children. We’d love to share some recent examples of how the work done at CFLM is making an impact on the community and how the love of Christ is being shared through our volunteers and especially through a specific CFLM staff member.

Kelly Brooks, the Chosen for Life Ministries Foster Care Initiative Coordinator, was recently awarded a Home in 5 Felecia Nieble Spirit Award.

The Lord Provides!

We have seen it over and over again since we first formed in 2010 – the Lord has always provided for our needs, often before we are even aware of them! From what began as an all-volunteer ministry, we grew to have one staff person in 2014 and now three staff members in 2016. We are constantly in awe of how the Lord has chosen to use what started as a handful of ordinary people to do extraordinary things! What a joy it has been to witness great growth and great provision as we strive to meet such a great need.
